Meta's New AI Agent Could Be a Huge Problem for Amazon

    Watch on YouTube

    Summary

The hosts discuss rising Treasury yields, oil-driven inflation concerns, and relatively subdued market volatility. They highlight Meta’s AI shopping agent as a potential competitive threat to Amazon, then review restaurant margins, geothermal energy, and data-storage growth alongside unusual options activity and profit-taking discipline.

    • Higher Treasury yields and oil prices are raising market concerns, while the VIX remains below 16 during the discussion.
    • The hosts describe strong adoption of Meta’s Muse AI agent and shopping partnerships with Shopify and Instacart.
    • Amazon reportedly blocked the agent over concerns about losing customer relationships and price-sensitive purchases.
    • Meta reaches new highs as the hosts cite repeated large call purchases and higher analyst price targets.
    • Darden faces food and transportation cost pressures, but positive sales growth and reaffirmed guidance temper the hosts’ concerns.
    • Fervo Energy’s geothermal milestone prompts discussion of infrastructure costs, options expiration risk, and disciplined profit-taking.
    • Ever Pure, formerly Pure Storage, rallies on its growth outlook; the hosts discuss taking partial profits and rolling profitable call spreads.

    1. Today we're going to be talking about yields hitting the highest level since 2004.

    2. That some prediction market stuff and of course sports on today's Rebels Edge.

    3. [music] [music] >> Bang. So Pete, uh you were speaking at some Rotary clubs yesterday or something like that.

    4. >> Yeah, there was just a lot of it was a lot of fun actually. These uh these guys that are on the wealthy side of Minnesota, John, [laughter] >> of the Twin Cities.

    5. >> I thought that was your neighborhood.

    6. >> Oh, I'd like to say that, but no, [laughter] the the big boys over in Weisetta, they they swing the biggest stick. But uh but yeah, a lot of great people over there, and they're, you know, they're always curious about the markets and what you're seeing and how you know that. So we we did a little bit of that. My wife's book that she's got. So people are excited about that. So it was a lot

    7. of fun. A lot of fun. It's a good day.

    8. >> Well, fantastic. Let's dive right into macro today, Pete. Yeah.

    9. >> And it is, of course, bond yields and inflation fears. Uh and those inflation fears uh not easing because of uh the Fed move last week. Again, just as Pete and I said, uh it is unlikely to be able to curb the price of crude oil. And that is where the inflation is, folks. But

    10. nonetheless, >> 10-year Treasury yield up above 51.

    11. That's the highest level since 2004. And I guess uh oil WTI Pete back over 100.

    12. >> And you know what, just to add to that, and I John John's 100% right. I mean, that is what's moving markets. That is what has people a little bit nervous. I think they're looking at the 10-year, like you said, over five. It's been up and above five now for a little bit of time. highest like you said with the 51 up there since 2007. How about this though, the 30-year, it's the highest since 2004.

    13. So >> yeah, >> you know, it just it just shows you these yields um have people little bit nervous. I wouldn't say it's crazy town by any stretch. Um but you know, certainly there's some nerves involved with this whole thing because of what we're seeing um with those yields. So is it an influencing the markets? E

    14. absolutely it is. Uh but is it an absolute slam dunk that these things are going to be down 3004? No. Uh matter of fact, I'm a little bit surprised, but uh the VIX remains uh relatively low. We might as well jump right into that, John. It's up.

    15. >> Sure, let's do it.

    16. >> It's up about 4% today. It's still short of 16. Uh we did, you know, we topped out early this morning. Right out of the gate, boom, we're up at 16 and a half.

    17. And then it immediately pulled back. And that's kind of something we've been seeing more and more as we've been going through this time with the with the volatility trying to jump up there. And I talked about this the other day where it jumps up to to 18 for all of a few seconds and then all of a sudden it pulls all the way back to where it's been. And um I'm not saying this is

    18. going to absolutely pull back into the 14s because there is a good reason why the the VIX is probably up here at about 157580.

    19. But nonetheless, um, interesting to see that we are seeing, you know, some pretty good movements, whether it's in the S&P, which is what the VIX is is connected with. But, uh, you know, you're looking at the Dow and, you know, once in a while, John, you and I have talked about that VXX as well. Uh, there's a lot of volatility within the NASDAQ. [laughter]

    20. That one seems to be the leader for sure.

    21. >> Right. Well, uh, let's talk a little bit about, uh, prediction markets, Pete. And this one just flipped in the last couple days. And it flipped because of Mark Zuckerberg and Muse >> because Anthropic and Chat GPT and

    22. Gemini all those kinds of things were uh going to be the top rated AI models. So people thought, but not so fast because guess which company has jumped above all of them now, Pete. And it might be uh

    23. pushing significantly higher and that is Meta with Muse. So Meta uh and I guess it's it's such a threat, Pete. I mean, they've already done things with Instacart and with Shopify, uh, cutting deals because basically you can train

    24. the muse to say, "Okay, well, when Pete, uh, is getting low on something, I want you to shop for the best price on X peanut butter or uh, protein powder or whatever, and it'll go out and buy it for you and everything, people, [laughter] so you don't have to do a

    25. thing." Well, uh, as you might imagine, uh, Amazon could be really happy about that, but they could be really sad about it at the same time. So, so far they have blocked news from being able to do that on their platform. Um, even though, of course, it would mean more

    26. transactions, but I think they worry about losing the customer that then just uses Muse and it price shops through all of the websites and maybe Amazon loses out. So, this is a very interesting thing, but that AI model over at Meta is really catching a lot of attention right now.

    27. >> Oh, absolutely, John, because it was not that terribly long ago, a couple months ago, where it was absolutely dominated by Open AI, right? They they kind of owned things and >> then all of a sudden you started to see X AI dri drift a little bit lower, a little bit lower, and it's been fighting back and forth with Meta on this whole

    28. thing. So, um, it wouldn't surprise me at all, John, if this thing actually does, uh, take over and start moving very rapidly to the upside and maybe kind of push open AI out of the way.

    29. But, uh, I haven't I haven't put money on this yet, but but it's something that, uh, you know, certainly, and I know we're going to talk about this, uh, a little bit more in depth on Meta itself, but you take a look at Meta today, uh, by the way, hitting 52- week

    30. highs today. So, uh, that says that that speaks volumes about how people think about Meta right now. And that's people with real money, right? I mean, oh yeah, this this isn't just guys throwing out there, hey, I kind of like it. Well, yeah, this thing actually is moving to the upside, like I say, and 52- week

    31. highs.

    32. >> Well, uh, let's, uh, give them the quick pitch for what's behind me, Pete. The, uh, circa, uh, that's Rebel Con 2026, folks. scan the QR code. Um, join the hundreds of people that have already signed up um, for Rebel Con 2026. It'll

    33. be out at Circa Hotel and Casino. Um, if you'd like to participate, Monday Night Football out in the world's largest outdoor sports book at Circa. Join us on the 19th, Monday the 19th. But the official kickoff is the 20th and 21st for Rebel Con 2026. We've got a great

    34. lineup of men and women who are going to bring entrepreneurial spirit. They're going to tell you all kinds of insider tips about data centers, digital assets, options, stocks, futures, pre-market, IPOs, and all that kind of stuff. So, by all means, scan that QR code right

    35. there, folks. And we hope we see you out in Vegas October 19th. If you're up for being out in the pool at the world's largest outdoor sports book known as Stadium Swim or uh join us uh with all your clothes on hopefully um for October

    36. 20th and 21st out at Circa Hotel and Casino. All right, Pete. Um let's dive into just what you were finishing up on Meta >> because Muse, which is their AI agent, as we've said, that'll go out and shop.

    37. Uh, and it became the number one download of Apple app stores immediately pulling in millions of downloads. Not tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands, millions of downloads. And so far, everybody that I've talked to about

    38. it, Pete, is pretty enthused about what this does very easily for them without having to know all these various steps with some of these other agents that go out and do things for you. Now, I imagine everybody's going to make it easier and easier, but Zuck has apparently really hit a home run with

    39. this one. And everybody but Amazon thinks it's a home run so far on the shopping side.

    40. >> Well, like you said, it it opened what it was 7:44 yesterday, Pete. It opened down today and then [snorts] zoomed up to, like you say, a new I think all-time high, but at least a 52- week high.

    41. >> Yeah. Yep. Absolutely. I mean, 768 was the number. Uh you can see it there. Now it's trading 769. So yeah, a really really nice move to the upside. Uh like you talked about the the millions of downloads, that's huge. That partnership that they've got with Shopify as well as Instacart is amazing. And then of course

    42. you've got analysts out there, John, who finally are waking up. You know, this has been happening, I think, to Zuck and Meta for all the way going back to Facebook days where they they they think that he's doing things that are crazy.

    43. He's spending too much money. He's doing this, he's doing that. Well, it seems like that's been turning out pretty well for him, John, [laughter] on all fronts and everything. I mean, he get he has gotten so much thrown at him for what?

    44. Well, you're really spending way too much. What are you doing? I mean, this is crazy. Now, they all pay that kind of money and throw it around. So, the analysts are finally starting to wake up to it, John, and they're saying, "Hey, look, um, we're going to raise our our targets up there towards 800 to 900 bucks." And here we are today. Like I

    45. say, we'll just call it 769 as of right now. So, is it uh is he is he doing a great job? He sure is. And he's doing a great job with this AI, as you said, when you think about that that download and and what they're doing. Um they are king again. So, it's amazing.

    46. >> Yeah. Well, and we had unusual activity, Pete. We had it a couple days ago and then we had it two days ago and then we had it again yesterday and we've had it since the stock was 712 as you see there on your screen folks and Meta today like

    47. Pete said trading 769 now. Um so just in a phenomenal that's 25 bucks higher than what you see on your screen even. I mean, just a phenomenal run there. And there was a look at one that just traded two days ago or three days ago. And then, like I say, there was one

    48. yesterday as well, Pete. And they've been buying tens of thousands of these calls at a time. So, is it over for Meta? Well, not according to the smart money. They just continue to buy. And you can see why because they're getting revenue from these AI agents. Not just,

    49. you know, a little revenue. They're taking a spiff just like Apple does, Pete, for handing off these orders and so forth. It's pretty interesting.

    50. >> It is.

    51. >> All right. Well, let's talk about DRRI.

    52. Uh it was down today early on because Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Cheddar, um Yard House, Ruth's Chris, Capitol Grill. These are all garden properties, folks. And when prices go up, they have two choices. one, they pass it on to you and me, or two, they

    53. eat it. Um, and it seems they were doing a little bit of both, Pete. Uh, they were eating some of that and they were passing on some of it, but the profit margins were coming down because of that. So, the stock was under some decent pressure um, because of that. You know, not huge, but decent pressure

    54. because of that uh, shrinkage, if you will, as George Fanza would say.

    55. [laughter] >> Outstanding. way you got that in there.

    56. Yeah. You know, early on, John, on the news they were down about 4%. Now they're only down a little over 1%. So, yeah, it's it's come back off of the lows. You know, when you look at the fact that they've got a dividend and they reaffirmed their their full year for 27 in terms of their earnings and so forth. Um, was this a perfect? No, it

    57. was not perfect. uh they it's a little bit lower than expected in certain spots, but I'll tell you what, the uh the sales and and the margins are are things that people are always looking at. They're trying to figure that out.

    58. The oil side of things, the cost of of everything and that they're getting and the food cost as well, um that have been exploding to the upside, but yet they're managing to do very very well, John, in a lot of these various uh companies that you just went off. I mean whether it's Olive Garden or Longhorn or Roose Chris,

    59. I mean you take your pick, but these guys I think are still doing very very well. I'm impressed with what they're able to do. Um but the margins are something that they've got to you know they've got to figure out how they can do that and still be at this kind of margins that they've been used to. And that's not easy. uh because you know as we all know we know where the inflation

    60. side of it is and crude oil is a big piece of that where they're they're getting all these shipments of all the food that they send sell of course and then the food prices are up as well. So they uh I think they're managing this pretty damn well to be honest with you.

    61. So um I wouldn't be very negative on this right now. As a matter of fact uh their sales themselves were up about 5%.

    62. So same source sales also up 3%. I mean that some of the numbers look pretty good, but they've just got to navigate this as best they can in terms of um you know what what inflation really is right now.

    63. >> Well, well said, Pete. Uh let's let's dive into one that was initially up like 14 15%. Fervo Energy. Um and why were they up? Uh you know, between you and me, Pete, and all of you listeners, I really like this one. It's a geothermal

    64. energy developer. So they build and own and operate geothermal power facilities.

    65. What does that mean? That means they use the heat from the earth geo the geothermal energy to basically run turbines to uh basically create electricity. And how much does that cost them? Almost zero. It's all in the infrastructure to build it out, Pete.

    66. and their Cape station in uh Utah reached first power. Um and it's going to synchronize up with the grid and start providing power out there. It's this is a big deal. Um like I say, it was up 14%. It's only up about uh 2%

    67. right now, but this is another one that we had unusual activity on. So, one of the things that I'd say to people, Pete, is um when you get a pop, even like Meta, do do people regret selling some Meta yesterday, Pete, because of the

    68. significant pop? It's up 28% in [snorts] three days. Um, they probably do a little, but being disciplined is about taking profits when you can, not when you have to, and cutting your losses.

    69. And you know, somebody came in here, they bought this week expiring or I'm sorry, they bought last week expiring September calls. Were they right? Yeah.

    70. But they were early. You know what I mean? Or in other words, they expired before people could actually take advantage of it. Right.

    71. >> So, um I think uh the unusual activity can lead you in the right direction, but then you have to be disciplined. Cut that loss if it's not working. And then you watch it this week and you just say, "My gosh, you know, if this guy was only two or three days later with that pick,

    72. if he would have picked the 25th instead of the 18th for his expiration, he would have killed it or she would have killed it." >> But, you know, that's that's all part of the game.

    73. >> Yeah. And the and the biggest thing that I think we're taking away from this though is not necessarily that they were off by a short period of time on on that buy uh potential with the calls, but it's the fact that they achieved that first power, John. I mean, that that's a very big deal. Uh they they they called it the defining new power generation.

    74. So, um are they pretty excited about things in the future? I think that they do. They they are very excited about that. As a matter of fact, when you see where the stock is now on the lower end of the 52- week low and high, I mean, they are very close still to the lower end. And I think that there's an opportunity where at some point we see

    75. this start to make a pretty nice move to the upside. I just like you probably waiting to see if some of that unusual option activity gives it another shot.

    76. Um, they were right. They were just right a little bit too early. So, it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. But, um, this is a stock, John, that's been as high as 4265. That's a 52- week high. Um, and here we are trading just below 17. So, is there a possibility that this could make an

    77. amazing run to the upside over time? I would say absolutely. It's just a matter of people having a better understanding of what does this really mean with this, you know, geothermal energy and the power company and all the things that go along with this. But, um, this is one I think you just put that on your computer somewhere and kind of keep a close eye

    78. on that one and see when when the time is going to be ripe for, uh, for this thing to maybe make a huge up move to the upside. It was up 14% early this morning. So, yeah, >> there is an appetite for it. There's no doubt.

    79. >> Well, let's finish it up, Pete, with pure uh, ever pure. The symbol is P. So, a lot of you probably saw that and thought, "Oh, is that Philip 66 or is that Pandora?" Nope. It's Ever Pure. It used to be known as pure storage. And

    80. they are not the lockers that you rent for $300 a month and uh leave your old diseased couch in there until you finally throw it away. Um these are the guys that do data management storage. Um and they had unusual activity, Pete, in

    81. a pretty big way. Um they were buying way out in January, but they were buying when the stock was 74 bucks or something like that. Take a look at where that stock went today. today because um all

    82. of that buying resulted in well a pop uh to right around 110 uh 115 not too long ago, Pete, but then it just eased off and now it's back on again.

    83. >> And so buying when they have that unusual activity is a big deal. And this one I think really paid off for the buyers. Well, and and the the news that they put out there, John, at their analyst day, um certainly understandable why people would be so excited about this name because they're looking at it

    84. and they're they reaffirmed their full year for 2027, uh revenue of a little bit north of 5 billion, which is a 37 to 38% growth. But that's not where they finished actually with this analyst day.

    85. They also went for the full year of 2028 and they gave us a 39 to 45% growth in revenue which is somewhere north of $7 billion. So >> they're clearly giving people a signal that uh they've got plenty to go in the next uh year, call it year and a half,

    86. maybe two. It's just amazing. And they're doing the right thing. They're hitting 52- week highs today. It's up 17% today. Um, if you had some, sure, you take some off, but I don't think you take it all off. I think there's I think there's still uh room if if if it's something that, you know, you're

    87. compelled enough to to like what they're talking about here from this analyst day and and what those numbers really look like for the growth. So, um, I would if if I don't own any, but if I own some, I would take some off, but I' I'd certainly want to hold some of it as well.

    88. Well, back when it was 74 bucks in July, Pete, they were buying the 8095 call spread. That's a $15 spread. Obviously, it's worth damn near 15 right now. It's January call spread. That's why I say damn near. It's probably trading like 1470 or something like that.

    89. >> Um because it's not January yet. But, um I I think you could do a little rolling, roll up, roll up, roll up. And I think the people that do want to stick with it, like you were just saying, are doing just that. They're rolling those options from and they probably have already done it at least a couple times, Pete, like

    90. in early August when it popped all the way to 115. Now, if they reloaded when it pulled back, I think they're happy campers today.

    91. >> Yeah.

    92. >> All right. Well, what do we got as far as sports? I know you had a video that you liked uh this morning.

    93. >> Yeah. I always love these videos. I that some of these guys are so creative, but this kid is special.

    94. >> I'll let you take it.

    95. >> Oh, yeah.

    96. >> Becker's a kid. That's >> Yep. No, no, let let him go.

    97. >> Everybody's created the narrative.

    98. Charlie Becker is a sneaky athlete.

    99. >> Charlie Becker is not a sneaky athlete.

    100. Charlie Becker ran track and high school and he won state in three different competitions. Charlie Becker's dad was a linebacker for Ohio State and [laughter] then his dad went and played major league baseball for the >> Look how much bigger than his daddy.

    101. >> Charlie Becker is a real athlete and it's in his DNA. Charlie Becker is a 6'4 wide receiver who runs a 4340 and he's the best player on Indiana's [laughter] entire football team. Charlie Becker has six touchdowns through three kind of a

    102. bit of a receptions total and he averages 23 yards per reception. Charlie Becker is not just a tall receiver. He's not a possession guy. Charlie Becker is trying to get in the end zone every single time he catches the football.

    103. Charlie Becker's not [laughter] sneaky athletic. Charlie Becker is a >> Yeah, he's right. He's not sneaky. He is just a beast. And any corner or safety who has to defend this guy, Pete, is not happy about how he's gonna look on

    104. Sunday game film. I'll tell you what, the kid's built pretty well, too. I mean, you look at, you know, the arms and everything and obviously the legs and the guy's got the speed and all that. I mean, it's it's it's absolutely amazing. He's he's he is a special kid.

    105. >> All right, John. little NCAA football and a little NIL, but uh it's it's setting up for something really really interesting. So, >> I I was looking at this, John. So, here's the top four as far as NIL rankings by school. So, Texas is number

    106. one with just short of $77 million in NIL. Okay. Miami 73 million, Texas A&M 70. LSU 68.5 million for them, right?

    107. and you're talking three SEC schools and one ACC school. Now, if you just break it down to football, it's a little bit different. You still got Texas at number three, 50 million. You've got LSU at 48 a.5, Texas A&M 47 a2, Miami at 47. So,

    108. lot of money is the way I would say it.

    109. We got we got a lot of money going in there. And that that money that I just read off is just football. So, of course, they've got unbelievable athletes and everything else, but those guys, and I know some of these donors, so do you, John, at various schools, and I know including University of Minnesota

    110. over here and some of the other schools and and so forth. We know that those guys are not very patient. They're they're donating money for one reason and one reason only, because the coach is telling them, "If we can get these players, we're going to win." Well, when they don't, that puts them on the hot seat pretty quick. And there's a lot of things that go with that. So this

    111. weekend, one of the one of the great games of the week, it's LSU and Texas A&M. They're both two and one. One of them's going to be two and two.

    112. [laughter] >> So I think what I you know what what stands out for me is do they do something about it? Because if you're two and two, it's going to get really really rough. you're going to have to have a great second part of the season um to be able to and you're not going to be paying the playing against the

    113. cupcakes anymore, John. You're playing against your own SEC, Big 10, whatever it might be, ACC. So, LSU, Texas&M, both two and one, if they go to two losses, uh I don't know how and and it's only going to get more difficult. So, what

    114. does that look like for the College Football Playoff? [laughter] You know, I don't know how many two loss teams are going to be in that group, but I mean, you know, they've expanded it a little bit. They're going to expand it more probably in the future, but um you know, if they've got two losses going into, you know, the rest of the conference play, uh there's going to be

    115. some stumbles probably along the way and that that's going to get these guys out of there quick. Well, and as Pete did the math there for you folks, um when you're looking at something like Florida, Pete, the swamp.

    116. >> Yeah.

    117. >> Where you can put in 90,000 or maybe even it's more than that now. I'm not sure. It might be over a hundred because they always expand these things.

    118. Tennessee does it, Michigan does it.

    119. They all make them bigger. Alabama does it. Um so you can see why they have an NFL franchise, if you will, for free.

    120. And now it's not free anymore like you said because oh they got to pay 48 million um in you know in NIL to these players and so forth. Well, you do the math. Florida should be making somewhere between 80 and 90 million from those home games.

    121. >> Um and that doesn't include the TV contract and all the rest. So they're still doing okay.

    122. But to your point, Pete, um, yeah, two losses, that means that you can't lose anything else. You can't hardly even have a close game to somebody you're supposed to beat up on. So, in other words, you can't have a let down at all.

    123. Even if you win, you can't have a let down.

    124. >> So, who does it open the gate for?

    125. Probably like Brigham Young and Louisville and Utah, some of those teams, Utah. Um, and I'm all here for it because those teams are damn good. And I think USC is going to find out against uh um Oregon this weekend exactly what

    126. how good USC is or isn't since they played the Little Sisters of the Poor so far.

    127. >> Yeah, they have not had a tough schedule yet, but they look great. They're 4-0.

    128. You got to give them credit. They're winning the games you're supposed to win. Now you Now you got to go up to Oregon and play against those guys.

    129. That's going to be difficult. But uh they got some great players. They got a a They're loaded with talent.

    130. >> That freshman DN that they've got who came right out of high school, he looks he's a he's a man of a man. That is not just a boy. That's a man. The kid's like 65 or 66, >> 300 lb. He runs like a deer. He looks fantastic. I mean, and he's already making a mark for himself at SC, John.

    131. He looks pretty damn good.

    132. >> All right, here's my sleeper for the SEC. It's a team that I actually saw in person playing against my Golden Gophers early on. And it's Mississippi State who is now sitting at 3 and 0. Are they playing a lot of really difficult teams?

    133. Not really. Um, is my my local team pretty good? Yeah, they're pretty good.

    134. I don't know how good we are or not right now, but we've got a very good quarterback, got some great players, got a great defensive end who's an all-American. We've got an offensive lineman here or there that that's an all-American as well. Um, so Mississippi State state took it to us. Um, as it turns out, so they're sitting at 3 and

    135. 0. John, here's why they're so damn good. Their quarterback might be might be the best quarterback in football right now, which sounds crazy because nobody's ever heard of him because he's another one of these guys. He's moved around a little bit, but Kamario Taylor.

    136. So, he's thrown for 800 yards, 11 touchdowns, one interception. He's been sacked four times. They've got a running game that's unbelievable. their top two running backs average five 5.8 yards a carry and Camario averages 6.6 6 yards per carry and he's, you know, 27 attempts, 178 yards. Not too bad, right?

    137. I mean, that's that's the quarterback.

    138. So, he's he's one of these dual threat guys. Then you've got three talented wide receivers. Couple of tall guys, couple of super fast guys, 600 yards so far on the receiving side of the quarterback as well. So, I like this team who, by the way, last year they weren't really thought of as much of

    139. anything. And now all of a sudden these guys with Kamario Taylor, John, they look pretty damn good. And you know, it'll be really, really interesting to see how well can they do in the SEC on a day in and day out basis as they go through it. But I tell you what, right now they look like a sleeper.

    140. >> Yeah. Well, and to your point earlier, Pete, maybe they're one of them that the door opens because of a two loss Texas A&M or a two loss LSU or whomever it might be. Oregon, um, you know, uh, a lot of those teams have been surprised and they've got one loss and they're

    141. licking their wounds now. Oregon came back strong.

    142. That 84 points was a statement game.

    143. Yeah. But, uh, again, it was against Portland State.

    144. >> Yeah. And uh >> Davis.

    145. >> Yeah. The old Mouse Davis. Yeah. The old run and gun. Remember?

    146. >> Yeah.

    147. >> Um but uh and then everybody adopted the running gun just like a lot of teams adopted the 46 defense. And right now your guy Pete Flores for the Vikings may have saved his job >> because everybody thought this was a really smart guy on defense, but the Minnesota defense always sucked. But for

    148. whatever reason, they thought he was smart. And now he is just bringing the house with the 46, the Minnesota 46. And that's interesting. You guys, if you haven't watched Minnesota Vikings do that, watch them because that's a really interesting way to play it, even against teams that have good receivers andor a

    149. quarterback that can sling it like the Bears, you know, when Caleb went down.

    150. Um, but yeah, there's a lot to talk about and I'm sure we'll have a lot on Monday, too, Pete.

    151. >> Oh, yeah. I'll tell you what, it should be pretty fun. I we're we're we're going to see some great games over the weekend and these are meaningful games in college. I mean, it's a big deal. So, looking forward to it, John.

    152. >> Well, last night, Pete, I was with David Savona. Um, he is the executive editor of Cigar Afficado magazine.

    153. >> Nice. and he saw a mockup of a cover of You and Me [laughter] >> and he was like, "Oh, so exactly who put this on? [laughter] >> You got to love it." >> So I was and he brought some great cigars. It was for a charity event and

    154. he did a great job >> and uh yeah, gave his time generously and you and I are going to get an interview with him, Pete, uh on the Rebel Edge, you know, a Rebels Extra, if you will. uh just talking about cigars and athletes. And boy, does that guy have stories, Pete, about Planet

    155. Jordan's course, you know, Grove 23 or any of these fabulous courses where he gets to play because, you know, he can put him on the cover of And by the way, I know who's on the cover of Cigar Fishado for the December issue. Uh, and

    156. it's it's a superstar that uh I think it might be one of their most popular issues ever when it comes out, people.

    157. Let me just say that.

    158. >> But uh to uh Dave Savona, Dave, uh thanks a lot for your generous time and for considering us on the cover of your magazine. [laughter] >> He liked that picture that much, huh?

    159. >> Yeah.

    160. >> Well, I got to talk to Ray Lewis about it, Pete, because if Ray gets on there with you and me and we've got the Trace Amigos or, you know, the three linebackers >> Yep.

    161. >> It could happen.

    162. >> That could happen. I like it.

    163. >> It could happen.

    164. >> I like it.

    167. good as uh I'm sort of thinking they are right now as a sleeper >> and a tester game for USC as well up in Oregon.
