Nvidia’s Biggest AI Event Is Here… But Will the Stock Disappoint Again?

    Watch on YouTube

    Summary

The hosts discuss whether Nvidia’s GTC conference could avoid another post-event stock sell-off, citing its forward valuation and opportunities in agentic AI and robotics. They also review market relief tied to possible easing around the Strait of Hormuz, upcoming Micron earnings, storage-sector consolidation, and AI infrastructure investment before turning to sports.

    • The hosts argue Nvidia’s roughly 21–22 times forward earnings valuation and an oversold market could support a different GTC outcome despite past post-event sell-offs.
    • Possible easing around the Strait of Hormuz and lower crude prices accompany a market rally, with the VIX retreating from roughly 35 to the 23s.
    • Micron’s upcoming earnings are highlighted as an important test for the relatively resilient memory-chip sector.
    • Public Storage’s acquisition of National Storage Affiliates sends NSA shares up about 31%; the hosts highlight earlier unusual options activity.
    • The hosts praise Meta’s AI infrastructure deal with Nebius while discussing potential workforce cuts of about 20%.
    • Justin favors Nebius’s management and balance sheet, citing Nvidia’s investment and broader data-center demand.
    • Justin reports that an April $115-strike Nebius call trade doubled, prompting a sale of half the position.
    • The closing sports discussion covers NCAA tournament picks, NHL Central Division competition, and early Heisman Trophy contenders.

    1. Rebels, today's a special day for Nvidia. It's their GTC conference, but will it lead to another letdown? It has the last three quarters, but we've got some insight that may paint the picture a little bit differently. All that and more on today's Rebels Edge.

    2. >> [music] [music] >> All right. All right. Here we go once again. Justin, it's great to see you.

    3. You're You're looking sharp over there in Honolulu. I'm I'm excited that you're there. What you're missing out here though is an absolutely gorgeous snowfall.

    4. >> [laughter] >> And to the tune of damn near 2 ft to 3 ft depending on where you are. So, uh you're missing out on that. I'm sorry you're miss Actually, in all In all seriousness, it's probably the most beautiful snowfall I have seen in Minnesota in this year or in many years.

    5. We've had a bunch of them where 6 8-in drops and whatever. This was a big one though. They They had almost almost 700 cancellations over at the airport. So, gives you a little idea of how much snow we got.

    6. >> That's crazy. You know, I heard from a lot of my East Coast friends and and mainland friends that it's been like a really nasty season for snow this year.

    7. I think I got out at the right time. Um but you're right. Yeah, it always looks really pretty from the inside as long as you don't have to leave the house, go anywhere, uh or be outside at all.

    8. >> Oh, man, it's not that bad. It really isn't. I'm telling you, I was out there for my walk today and I was just I was actually able to run, jog, and walk.

    9. But, um they're still not The roads aren't cleared because it's going to take a little bit of time. I mean, and these guys are pros and it still takes a little extra time because it was a It was like a 12-hour snowfall. I mean, it was just it just kept on coming down and coming down. But anyway, all right. So, obviously, John's not here, but we got

    10. my man Justin. Look forward to that.

    11. It's always great. But, um I'm going to kick it off with the macro side of things. There is nothing more macro right now than the streets of Hermos. I mean, that that is what's moving the markets. And if you want to look at the volume and everything else that comes along with it, but specifically look at the volatility and and the movement we've had there. We'll talk about that

    12. in a moment as well, but just the idea of where we are, how does it set, and the fact that maybe it's opening up a little bit is certainly affecting the markets in a very, very positive way with volatility going down and the markets going up. And uh you know, it is what it is,

    13. especially now that crude's maybe giving back a little bit on the on the way down. We'll see. It's it's a just a single day, but we'll see.

    14. >> Yeah, and then I'll also throw in one macro piece is the Micron earnings coming up. I know I believe it's on the 18th, Peter. Am I Am I correct on that? Do you know if it's this week? I think it is.

    15. >> It is, I believe, yeah.

    16. >> Yeah, I'm going to go and run with it and say it's the uh the 18th. We saw some leeway in there today, this morning, leading uh on the bullish side.

    17. And that would be very, very supportive for the market because memory has been one of those spots that has held up so well even when a lot of things have fallen apart. So, I'd keep an eye on Micron this week. I think it's probably the most important stock to watch.

    18. >> And you're you're dead on because whether it's a Sandisk or a Micron or all the different you know, there have been a lot of activity. And you know, mostly to the upside, really pretty strong. And we've seen, like you said, some unusual auction activity as well. How about the volatility index, man? The volatility index is volatile. I mean, you know, and I know that sounds

    19. crazy to say it like that, but you know, the fact that we were trading at what?

    20. 35 days ago? I mean, literally 7 days ago, we were at a 35 VIX. Now, it didn't last longer than about a sneeze, but it was there and then started pulling back.

    21. And now we're seeing this thing start to pull back even more. Last I looked, we were somewhere in the 23s and it looks like that that chart is showing pretty accurately exactly where it is. So, amazing how how volatile that's been, but it's been pushing to the downside.

    22. We did have some some VIX call buying just late last week as well. So, maybe it's not over or maybe it's somebody just taking one more shot at it with the with the with the the calls that they were buying there, but you know what? It is amazing to see how much this thing moves and how fast

    23. it's moving and you know what?

    24. 23 feels a little bit better for a lot of people, which clearly is evident by what we're seeing going on right now in the markets with the Dow up 500 points.

    25. >> Yeah, I completely agree. You had a great take on this in the cocktail hour.

    26. You, Mark, and John were able to jump in on there last Friday. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I would check out their segment. You had talked about the VIX saying, "Hey, if you do decide to partake in this ULA, you know, to paraphrase you, I'm sorry if I get this wrong, you know, be nimble on that thing." Like I I would imagine what you're saying is if we get a big pop, I

    27. would I would take that profit quickly and if whether that's what you're saying or not, that's what I would certainly do as well because that's, you know, when they came in and hit that that Friday VIX ULA, it was funny. It was at the early part of the day when things were looking all right and then things started to really get nasty.

    28. I haven't checked to see if they're still long, but I wouldn't have been surprised if they took that profit right then and there, but I I have no idea.

    29. I'll I'll say this to the VVIX falling.

    30. That's the volatility of the VIX. That's a little bit of an ease on the pressure, but it's still up really high, like 119.

    31. And lastly, the ES, how about the spy, the S&P, whichever future you want to call it, really right near that 200 MA, kind of the mother of all moving averages. It's uh really likely that the first time we touch that we get a bounce. That's usually what happens, but we'll have to see.

    32. >> Yep. Yep. Should be fun. I don't know if you're doing any of the Polymarket stuff, are you? Or do you do you have any >> Oh, sure.

    33. Want to hit a Polymarket bet off the top? Let's do >> [laughter] >> Um, oh, here's one that we've been following. This one's good. You know, we'll lead into I know we're going to talk sports later, but who do you got, Pete, out of these four for the NCAA tournament winner? I've only talked to John about this.

    34. >> Ah.

    35. >> [laughter] >> Should I give you the four?

    36. >> Yeah, give me the four and I'll go.

    37. >> Okay. Duke, Michigan, Arizona, Florida.

    38. >> You know, all of them absolutely have a chance, but how do you not go with Duke? I mean, they they manage to always get some of the best players in the country. They do a great job with them. The coaching has always been fantastic, and they have that legacy. And they've all been there before. Even if you're a freshman

    39. playing on the on the basketball team, they've been at high peaks before because they're so dang good. They've played in all sorts of different, you know, leagues coming up in into college and everything. So, I like Arizona. I think they're fantastic. I like Michigan, but Michigan's had some stumbles along the way, not many, but where they just

    40. didn't play well, lose to somebody that they probably shouldn't have.

    41. That doesn't happen very often with Duke. So, I'm going to go with Duke.

    42. >> You know, I had my pick the whole time has been Arizona, but I found something out about Florida that I thought was really cool. They're probably still not going to get it, but how about Olivier Rioux, the 7'9" center?

    43. >> [laughter] >> He was I found out he was previously recognized as the world's tallest teenager. That is crazy. For those who don't know, he plays for the Florida Gators.

    44. Um, super impressive. You know, I hope that he keeps honing that craft cuz that's it's a great base to build an incredible player off of. But, that's that's my Polymarket bit for the day.

    45. >> I like it. I like it, man. All right, we'll jump into some of the stocks right now. How about Public Storage? I mean, this national storage was something pretty special and uh public storage just said, "You know what? We want to be the biggest, the baddest, the best in the business." And they may have just

    46. done exactly that. The synergies of this deal make a lot of sense. NSA is up 31% today, so that's not so bad. Oh, by the way, uh we had some unusual option activity in this son of a gun, too. How about that?

    47. Look at that move. But, we had some UOA here that was pretty special. So, that was something that uh I mean, just take a look at that. I think you did pretty well. That 85 cents, if you look at it and say, "Okay, April 30, well, about nine $9.80, maybe pack in a little bit of time and whatever else." Um

    48. that's not such a bad one, right? I mean, the the way that moved in there for us was absolutely outstanding. Now, these guys, like I said, are going to be a behemoth. I think that they have positioned themselves into something that is bigger than a lot of people really really probably fully understand. I

    49. mean, $77 billion enterprise value. So, um that's that's become a big one. And they already know exactly where they want to target things in the United States. So, um I think they have found themselves uh to be pretty solid, but this this acquisition is going to make them the biggest there is.

    50. >> Yeah, I completely agree. And you know, the the one thing I'll say about this one, why do you like UOA? Well, it's because who would have been trading a public storage company? Let's be real.

    51. Who else would have said, "I'm going to go buy options, which need the thing to move fast, on a company where you uh you know, you rent out like a 10 by 10 space to store your foosball table?" These guys are uh these guys got acquired. UOA is great for making those sorts of calls. This was, I believe, more than a

    52. 10X. Incredible. Uh but, Pete, you called it. I mean, yeah, these guys are are a a little a known monster in this space and probably just keep going.

    53. >> Yeah, unbelievable. All right, speaking of monsters, uh Meta is willing to spend Meta is a monster and I'll tell you what, that CEO long, long ago when they first came out, you know, I was I was sort of suspect about it, you know, his age and everything else. It just kind of made it seem like, wow, this is this is

    54. all happening really fast. Well, it kind of was, but I'll tell you what, they've done a magnificent job. He he is he is spent uh when others thought it was foolish and now he's spending again and we'll see if uh if he is or not, but I'm I'm kind of on the camp that I trust him. I I think

    55. that he's done an unbelievable job and when you look with Nebius, what they're doing and Nebius, by the way, is up about 13% today, maybe better now. Meta was up about 3% last I looked, that's having a pretty good day. And oh, by the way, Nebius, huh, they got a little connection with Nvidia, too, right? I mean, they they've got a little bit of

    56. everything going on here, but um you know, what that hardware looks like and and the you know, for the power that they're doing and the one negative, there is one negative about Meta being so good at what they do and so strong and and what they're doing with this AI infrastructure um deal that they're going to be making here.

    57. Uh the workforce, they're going to lose about 20% man. I mean, so that's the one sad part and that is the one real big thing that a lot of people are talking about with AI because the efficiency.

    58. Well, when you get that efficient, what happens? You start losing or not losing, getting rid of people because you don't need them anymore. So, that part's the only sad part about this story because uh Meta is doing a great job and Nebius is is just a unbelievable company right now.

    59. >> Yeah, all right, I'll try and hit this one fast cuz this is my favorite story of the day. Uh Meta's thing Meta's job cuts sad for the people who work at Meta probably great for Meta's stock if we see uh what happened with XYZ block the last time that they announced a ton of job cuts.

    60. Those job cuts I think are going to get way worse across a lot of sectors not just because of AI and people, you know, getting emails together with LLMs but because of Open Claw I've been talking about it a lot but it's basically an employee on a chip. It's crazy. Uh Circle for that matter becomes something

    61. that you end up uh playing to play Open Claw more on that later. By the way, speaking of Open Claw Meta now bought something called Mult Hub and Mult Book actually is what they bought. Uh that's a place where all of these AI agents go to talk to each other. It's a social media that you and I are not invited to

    62. except to watch as a bunch of AIs like Grok and ChatGPT straight up talk to each other uninhibited. Super weird, very creepy. Uh on Nebius I do not use this term lightly but I think that the people behind Nebius are quite honestly the smartest people to come out of uh Eastern Europe in the last 100 years. I

    63. think they are uh that that side of the world's Elon Musk and I do not to again I I don't say that lightly. These guys are really incredible. Nebius has the best balance sheet of any of the data centers. I've said that for a while.

    64. They are only the third largest of the uh gigawatt capacity data centers behind Coreweave and then behind I ran as the largest but these deals are amazing and I really really love that company and the data center story in its as a whole. And the last thing I'll say is I wonder how that's going to play

    65. into tomorrow's Aquo earnings because we know that SMRs and nuclear are going to play a part in that data center story.

    66. >> Yep and they've taken a a break from that huge run that they were making for a long time too, right? I mean that that was something where we've watched this thing play out right there in front of us. Last thing too uh definitely hurt that bad that uh the $2 billion investment that they got from Nvidia as well, right?

    67. >> That's so true. You know, actually, can I say one last thing about this and then I promise I'm done. You said speaking of monsters at the beginning of this segment, I almost forgot. On Friday, we had a trade monster hitting this name. Uh, bought the 115 strike calls for April, already took half off at 100% this morning. Uh, shout out to any of my trade monsters who may be watching this

    68. um thing.

    69. >> They should be watching, by the way. All right, see you. We're going to go to fertilizers right now and the ag chemical world and that whole thing. As we're starting to see things, as we talked about early on from the macro side of things, um the Strait of Hormuz may maybe there's a little bit of a a a softening of things uh because I don't want to

    70. overplay it either, but if that's the case and it seems like it is, um that's really uh pretty good in from from the perspective of well, the fertilizer names can start getting a lot more cuz that's part of the whole shipping issue that that we're dealing with here, but I'll tell you what, um that also is

    71. bringing that price down a little bit as well. So, if you look at Mosaic and you look at CF and you look at some of the names that are in that category, um that's what we're sort of seeing there.

    72. It's not only 20% of oil, but it's also uh fertilizers and so forth that are coming through and going through the strait. So, um interesting to see that.

    73. I don't know if you've got anything else more on the fertilizers, but if you do, go right ahead.

    74. >> You know, I guess I would just ask you about the Strait of Hormuz. Uh, I heard Trump saying that uh I think the US gets 1 to 2% of its its oil and its shipments from the Strait of Hormuz and China gets 90%. Do you think that we'll be successful in getting China to help guard that strait and pressure Iran down, or do you think that's just going to be talk?

    75. >> Well, one would think that that would make sense, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen.

    76. You know, I hate to say it like that, but you know, that it's such a polarizing thing and whatever that it's uh it it makes it difficult, but that would make a lot of sense. That really would. All right, we're going to jump to Nvidia now. So, with Nvidia, like you said earlier, they've got a big deal going on right now. This GTC thing

    77. and and it everybody's excited about this, right? The whole world about the advances that are going on in AI and computing and and robotics. You know, that is the one thing I'll just hit on that and then I'll throw it to you, but I don't think people fully get it when when when they talked about the robotics

    78. side of things and that's the next thing and and people just don't ever talk about it. They really don't and I I think that's a huge mistake when you're talking about Nvidia. I think that the fact that the robotics is something that Jensen Huang himself was up there, you know, on the pulpit basically preaching one time not too

    79. long many months ago and talking about robotics and so forth, but for whatever reason and I get it, it gets kind of buried because everybody's still AI AI AI AI, right? I mean, that's just the way it goes, but there's also that robotics uh part of it that I think makes a lot of sense. By the way,

    80. um he will be the man himself, Jensen Huang, he will be talking at uh 1 p.m.

    81. Central Time.

    82. I say that because everybody else wants to go on East Coast time. Well, but not everybody lives on the East Coast. The hell with those guys. So, 1:00 Central Time is when he gets up on the and gets into the podium and starts preaching.

    83. What do you think about this whole thing with Nvidia and what's going to happen over the next couple days?

    84. >> Well, so everybody wants to get out there and say we're going to sell off.

    85. I'm seeing a lot of investment research firms come out and say, "Well, in Q3 of 20 uh in out of the last, let's see, nine events, seven of them have led to a sell-off right afterwards, right?" Personally, uh I actually agree with you. I think that the market is in a pretty oversold condition already.

    86. And also, if you look at like the forward PE, a lot of people have already drawn this comparison, but if you look at the forward PE of another great name, Costco, right? Great name, but 47 to 54X. What's Nvidia's? 21.5 to 22.5. Really, really interesting spot for them to be giving this news where we are in a really, really interesting time

    87. where, you know, again, robotics are huge, but I I still think agentic AI, this thing where agents are going to be able to be sort of sentient, you know, a lot of people are putting these things in Roombas, they're putting these things in those little Boston Dynamics dogs and

    88. all kinds of things like that. Well, Nvidia's about to assist in merging all of the AI and agentic and robots together in something that is really, I mean, I I do not think the world is ready for it. It is not something that is deserving of just a 21 to a 22

    89. forward PE. And Dan Ives came out with a note where he said he also agrees with that, but Dan Ives is always bullish on Nvidia, so I don't know how much water that >> [laughter] >> You're right about all that.

    90. All right, man. Well, are we ready to jump to a little bit of sports? I think we got a fun video. So, this is one of the our favorite guy, even though John's not here, he sent a video from this guy because the guy puts out these videos constantly. But, this should be pretty fun. So, here here's what's going on with the Final Four. Let's see Let's see what we

    91. >> Four picks starting in the East. I'm going to take the red-hot Johnnies to reach their first Final Four since 1985.

    92. They have the best coach in the tournament in Rick Pitino, who you know is going to want revenge from last year's second-round exit. They're getting hot at the right time, and I know Duke is the favorite to win it all on Cal-Shi, but I'm concerned about those injuries. Give me the Johnnies in the East. In the South region, give me Houston. With no playing for Florida this year, and we all know how important guard play is in the tournament. Give me

    93. Houston's three-headed monster of Fleming's, Youzan, and Sharp. Kelvin Sampson is as good a coach as there is in the country. I like [music] Houston to go back to the Final Four for the second straight year. In the Midwest, I'll take the chalk and I'll take Michigan. Them and Duke have been the two best teams all year, and I don't think anyone can stop them in this part of the bracket. I like Michigan in the

    94. Midwest. Then finally, in the West region, give me Arkansas and the Stephon Marbury clone, Darius Hickman. That man's got more aura than everyone in the tournament combined. I see him doing this year what Derrick Rose did for Calipari back in '08 with Memphis. Give me Arkansas in the West. And when it's all said and done, I got a final of Arkansas and Houston with Houston

    95. cutting down the nets and getting their revenge from last year's loss. My immediate >> I'll tell you what, he's a ball of energy, he knows what he's talking about, and and I'll tell you what, I think he I I don't think he's right on the on the call, but I do think he knows far more than most most anybody on, you know, all these various

    96. teams and the players and the coaches and some of the history behind that. One thing about that Michigan team, they've struggled when they've played Wisconsin.

    97. Now, I'm this is not a criticism, it's just a fact. So, it's kind of interesting because they're in the same bracket. Wisconsin's number five and Michigan's number one, but if it turned out that Wisconsin actually got the opportunity to face them again, uh they already you know what, they could be inside the head of the Michigan players

    98. because they've beaten So, you never know. It'll be interesting.

    99. >> And you know, he's right though. What an unpopular call that is. If he ends up being right, he's probably one of the only people who gave that specific call.

    100. And look at a Polymarket, Arizona has a or rather Arkansas has a 1% shot on Polymarket. Houston is number one winner has a 7% shot, which is a lot better.

    101. But yeah, man, if he if he hits that call, that's that's someone's betting money is going to do pretty well.

    102. >> Yep. Yep. All right, so we're going to segue to something completely different than what we were just watching. We're going to go and it's because it's we're sitting there it's there's 20 games left in the NHL season, right? Um and so I just was kind of taking poking around and looking at stuff and you know, on the sports side of things and then what I found to be interesting

    103. the most powerful division in all of hockey right now is the Western Conference. It's the Central Division.

    104. And number one is Colorado, number two is Dallas, and number three is Minnesota. Colorado has the most they do a point system. They have the most points of anybody. They got 97 points.

    105. They got two of the best goalies, literally the two best goalies in in uh the NHL.

    106. And that makes it sort of interesting.

    107. Then you look over at Dallas who's got the next highest number of points in all of hockey, 94 points. So that's pretty interesting. They got a heck of a record that they've got going. And then Minnesota, believe it or not, behind them they're sitting there as well. And they're they're not number three or four or five, they're number three in their

    108. division, but they've got 88 points. So they're right there, too. So it's kind of stacked up in there and I and I bring this whole thing up because of this reason.

    109. When you look around in in sports a lot of the time, it's kind of the same old same old, you know, and whatever and um you know, what what people really want is they want to see that competitiveness as you get to the the end of the season, right? And I think you're seeing that in the NHL and you're seeing that specifically in the Central Division

    110. where any one of those three could absolutely be a winner and and get into it. Now, they still got 20 games to go and you got injuries and it's hockey, so those things do happen. It's it's going to be interesting, but I'll tell you what, um I think one of the reasons that that football, particularly football, does so

    111. well is because they have figured out how to do it with the cap, with the spending of the cap, and how they do the draft and all the different things that they do. Um it's why I think that they're so well-liked and everybody will watch, you know, football at any point in time when it's on TV. And it helps

    112. their ratings a lot. And I think this will help the NHL's ratings that you've got these three teams in one division that could be fighting this thing out when it's all said and done to get into their to the Stanley Cup. So, it it we'll see if that helps out some of the ratings for hockey, too, because hockey's ratings are decent. They they

    113. do okay. NBA does okay. But NCAA football and basketball and throw in the NFL, that's where the real money is and that's where the real um fans are, it seems like. And it you know what? They're And they're always hungry.

    114. What do you think about this whole thing about uh a division having three of arguably the best teams in the entire league? Pretty cool, isn't it?

    115. >> It's very cool. Yeah, I mean, Colorado looks like they're heavily favored to win the Stanley Cup. But you're exactly right. I mean, it's probably any of these guys' game. And And I like your bit about the the salary cap piece. I I wonder if that would help bring a little bit more competitiveness and a little bit more viewers to the sport

    116. that is still going hard. We had, you know, obviously the president talking about hockey not so long ago. That certainly helps to give it a boost.

    117. >> Yeah.

    118. >> But I mean, I'm looking at some of the valuations of these teams and it's wide.

    119. I had no idea. I mean, a Toronto valuation at 4.3 billion. Comparatively, average franchise value at 2.1 billion.

    120. Wild. Wild wild divergence between these.

    121. >> Yeah, it is crazy. And it's just crazy just the sheer numbers that are there now. I mean, you know, there's multiple teams in the NFL, for instance, that are well over 10 billion.

    122. And it's it sounds crazy, but it's real.

    123. And if All you got to do is look at those numbers and you just go, well, this This this is exactly why. All right, I got a second one for you. This one will be fun. Kind of kind of early.

    124. It's way too early. We haven't even had spring football yet, right? For for colleges.

    125. And yet, we already have a grouping of the top five players for the Heisman Trophy this this coming year. Now, we haven't had spring ball. We've got guys transferring and going here and there and everywhere. And we're talking about the transfer portal and all the rest of that. And also, you know, some of the the 2026 kids that have signed up to

    126. some of these various teams. And some of them graduate high school early just so they can get to the school that they're going to so that they can compete and try to win the position that they play um in spring football. So, a lot of that's going on. As a matter of fact, I'll be at the Nebraska uh spring football game this year again with uh a

    127. bunch of my buddies over there, which it should be a lot of fun. It's amazing.

    128. And I'll tell you what, it'll be crazy.

    129. They might get 80,000 people there to watch a spring football game, which is not a real football game. But, that's who they are. So, I Heisman Trophy, here's what it looks like. CJ Carr at Notre Dame is number one right now.

    130. You've got Arch Manning, he gets talked about all the time. He is a heck of a quarterback, but you know, I don't know whether or not he's reached this, but he's number two quarterback at Texas.

    131. Julian Sayin from Ohio State, all the usual suspects are here. Dante Moore from Oregon, who's very good. He actually decided to go into the NFL and then backed out on that decision. And he's going back to Oregon for another year cuz he he had enough years to be able to go into the draft, but he

    132. changed his mind. But, lastly is the most interesting one, Josh Hover.

    133. He's from TCU. He transferred to Indiana.

    134. Is it possible that Indiana could have back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners for a program that plays football that hadn't had practically a winning record, so to speak, but until this year. And and I'll tell you, Curt Cignetti is unbelievable.

    135. He does a great job. He's got all the players around and he's got his right quarterback. It's exactly who we wanted.

    136. He's got to clean up the interceptions and all, but wouldn't that be amazing? I mean, how amazing would it be to have a school like Indiana that's a basketball school that's turned into a football school and maybe get two back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners. What do you think of that?

    137. >> I think it's incredible and I think that's how you build the fan base in a major way. But, I wanted to ask you, so you said when you were going through the list, you're talking about C.J. Carr and you talked about Arch Manning.

    138. And you said, you know, I I think what you're maybe sort of saying is like, "Hey, he's really good." You said, I forget exactly how you said it. You said, "I don't know if he's quite up there in that way yet." Do you think that it's more of a name value thing that he's on these lists or is he the real deal, do you think?

    139. >> Absolutely name value. Uh but, um deservedly so to some degree, right? I mean, there's there's multiple man Manning kids, by the way, and they all play quarterback and they're they're all either in high school or coming into college or whatever. Um but, you know, the name certainly gives them that, you know, cachet, you know, to be

    140. who they are and all that kind of stuff.

    141. And I think it does get into the reporters and they they think about it and they're like, "Yeah, I got to go with this guy." Um he has not shown us to be at that level, in my opinion. Now, can he run? Actually, he's athletic as hell. He he can sprint. I mean, the guy had one really long run this past year

    142. as a quarterback where he was literally just flying by guys as he's running down the field. He's far faster than I ever and athletic than I ever would have thought. But, that being said, he's still, you know, in some ways it's really great to be a Manning and in some ways it's not because you're getting

    143. judged against your father or your uncle who played at the highest level, who are both Hall of Fame quarterbacks. I I it's it's tough to live up to that and and that's that's what these kids have to deal with. But yeah, I I don't know that um

    144. I just don't know that he's really the the number two guy. But we'll see. I mean, he's got a lot of players around him at the University of Texas. They do pretty damn good at recruiting and everything else and they've got the money to do damn near whatever they want. So, um I think he's really good, but I also

    145. think that some of it is a little bit of the hype because of the background.

    146. >> Yeah, maybe people want a dynasty.

    147. You're right. I can't imagine being one of these people's children cuz it must be a double-edged sword. You know, on one hand, yeah, hey, here's an an easier route than a normal person into the NFL or if you're, you know, Bronny James into the NBA or whatever, you know, kid you are. But, you know, growing up and being one of these people's kids, I'd hate to be like, you know, damn, I just

    148. want to do ballet, man. I don't want to do [laughter] football or whatever other thing you might be interested in. It's like, you're doing football.

    149. You know.

    150. >> It's a big It's a big thing, man. It it weighs on these guys. I know it all too well. My father was an All-American football player and, you know, I had to live up to that and he was he was he was great, went to a played in a Rose Bowl, he did all that. And then he was one of the greatest doctors ever, you know, a transplant surgeon and all that. So, I I get it and I I So, I understand a little

    151. bit. But these guys, uh you know, obviously football, that that focus is on that name on the back of that jersey and they see it and they're like, "Oh, there's Manning." >> [laughter] >> So, it is it is tough and it it doesn't make it any easier. Well, I'll tell you what, Justin, it's always fun working with you and it's not work, it's fun.

    152. But um it's great and if John's out again tomorrow, hey, man, I'll be giving you another call because uh it's always good to have you on.

    153. >> Awesome. Thank you.

    154. >> Take care, man.

    155. >> Yeah.
