Welcome back to the Rebels Edge. I'm coming to you from Vegas. Pete's coming to you from the frozen north. And I don't mean Canada. Um because Canada's good, but uh the Canadians are 0 and five right now, Pete. And Pete and I will explain a little bit of what
they're losing every single day. But the good news is that uh the price of crude oil is dropping and has gone down substantially since last week. We've got that and a bunch of stocks for you on today's Rebels Edge.
[music] [music] Well, he is indeed Pete Nagarian. He and Justin Nent were holding down the fort
yesterday. I'm coming to you live from Las Vegas. And uh Pete, it's 94 degrees out here already. [laughter] >> Well, John, we're a balmy zero and we got two feet of snow the other day. In certain areas, even more. Some people
got up to three. Um but I will tell you that we get a little relief and then tonight we start with more snow coming down. They're there. Now it's only three to five inches, but you know what the hell? [laughter] My wife said they were getting thunder snow.
>> It was thunder and lightning and snowing.
>> Yeah, we had that. And the last thing I'll say about it is um not only are we going to get a little bit more snow, but it it's a really interesting, John. Um the the air the aircrafts are finally able to fly a little bit, so that's good. We had 700 cancellations at at the airport. So, at one point in time, there
was absolutely nobody in the airport. I mean, they're showing you and you'd expect long lines, but everything was canceled, so nobody showed up. So, the only people standing there were, you know, some of the some of the guys working there, quite frankly. So, kind of a kind of a tough thing, but then we hit 55 on Saturday. So, it's going to melt pretty quick. [laughter]
>> Sounds like flooding. You better keep market rebel one in the hanger uh instead of out there on the runway.
>> All right, folks. Macro Global. Uh we've got markets across the globe really trading higher except the Iranian market. I wonder why that is. But anyway, um positive sentiment uh basically because of stabilizing oil prices. That doesn't mean they've moved back down to 68 or anything, but they
stabilized. They're not just like shooting to the upside like they were last week. What do you got, Pete?
>> You know what, John? I'm going to hit the same thing because I think it's the most important thing. Obviously, you know, uh people are watching the TV.
They're seeing what's going on. They understand what what the uh the war is looking like right now and some of the amazing things that are happening from from a positive side, I think, from the military. But that being said, it's also amazing to see that just like the VIX, we had that huge spike. We hit 121. We were there for a quarter of a second and crude, then we pulled back, then we
pulled back, then we pulled back, and here we are now underneath 100 at about 94, 95, whatever. Um, interesting to see how rapidly that's pulled back. and how the markets are reacting because of the fact that it's under triple digits. And I think I think that's really the biggest power most powerful thing that we're seeing right now about the
markets.
>> Well, and as that pulls back, of course, uh people get a little more comfortable.
Um and uh obviously the VIX pulls back, Pete, pretty dramatically. And the VIX and the OVX, the volatility of oil have both pulled back, right?
>> Absolutely. Uh the oil volatility is still somewhat there, but it's well off of the highs. Way off of the highs. And volatility index, John, think about this. You're just going back a little over a week ago. I mean, it was the ninth was that was Monday, a week ago, right? And that was the day that we hit 35. And then all of a sudden, we pull back and we start to pull back and we
pull back again. And here we are this morning. We actually ticked underneath 22 or or thereabouts. So interesting to see how fast this is moving to the to the downside in terms of the volatility index. Doesn't mean it can't bounce around a little bit because I'm sure that it will. But like we've said time and time again, and don't listen to
those guys on the four-letter network who sit there and say, "Oh yeah, this could be up here for a while." Do you have any clue what you're talking about when you say that? Because the answer, you're right, shaking your head. Is no because of the fact of are we truly going to move 2% every day? Every day.
or is there a movement of 2% and then pulls back? And that's exactly what we're seeing, John. I mean, it's interesting. Even on a day like today when we've got the volume sort of moving in the right direction, we're less than 1% to the upside, up 42 points on on the S&P. So, again, uh getting down towards
22 give or take when it comes to the VIX makes a heck of a lot of sense. Well, and Pete, the uh VXN, uh we'll have to cover that a little more later in the week, but yeah, that's the volatility, folks, of the NASDAQ VXN, and it was up
over 30. It has fallen down to 25 now.
And uh that is another positive thing for the markets because that is the tech sector. I mean, I know we we all know that, but the volatility uh has come out pretty dramatically from, for instance, uh the 6th of March or something like
that, Pete. It was up over 32. Now, it's down here at 2520 today. Um we'll keep you updated on that, folks, because again, that is one of the most active uh markets of the growth stocks.
>> All right, folks. Welcome. Um, in today's venture segment, we're going to feature a very unique company that is disrupting the $2 trillion entertainment market with advanced AI, next generation patented technology, and one of the most profitable characters in history.
Remarkably, Elf owns a trademark library of over 500 character assets, including the rights to legendary names like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, and so forth. Elf's omni channel plans to
monetize these IP rights include streaming, virtual reality applications, and mobile distribution. The company's crowdfunding offering closes in just a week's time. To learn more, click the link below. And as always, we are
investors in Elf Labs. We are also paid to help promote them. And we think that having skin in the game through ownership and so forth means that we really support this company and believe in them. So, you have to make your own decision, folks. But if you'd like to invest, please click the link below. All
right, Pete, let's do Uber, shall we?
>> Let's do it.
>> Um, Uber Technology announced a substantial expansion of their partnership with Nvidia. Many of you know that Nvidia powered autonom autonomous vehicles. Easy for me to say.
Um, is going to be a big deal. And I don't just mean a one-day big deal. I mean a big deal uh for years and years to come. They're scaling to 28 cities worldwide. Pete, uh Uber is with this partnership. And that's a big deal for both companies. And Nvidia said
yesterday, Pete, that uh uh they're looking at a trillion dollars in those Blackwell chips by 2027. So that's a lot of demand.
>> And the key word that you were talking about there, John, was just the one, the Blackwell itself. That's not all of Nvidia either. I mean, we're we're we're talking about they do a lot of different things, right? I mean, so when you listen to Jensen Wong and and some of the positive things that he has to say about where their stock is and where it
potentially could go based upon some of these numbers that are a little bit into the future, but not that far. You can understand why Nvidia has has uh sort of jumped in front of us again. Something where we want to keep a very close eye on this, John. the fully driverless u operation of the vehicles, the
autonomous vehicles. This is going to grow and it shows how quickly they're talking about how fast this can get to the next level and the next level. I mean 2027 they're looking at just basically San Francisco and Los Angeles, but 2028 they're looking for quite a few cities worldwide. We're talking about
28. So to your point, pretty impressive.
And let's not forget about the fact that Uber itself as of today up about 5%.
That's not so bad. This is this is a pretty interesting stock, John, that's made a pretty healthy move to the upside and I think one that people should be keeping a very close eye on. Yeah, it's going to get rid of a lot of the drivers into the future. But for right now, this is a stock that's definitely just uh I
think has plenty of upside still in front of it. Well, and I skipped over the prediction market by mistake, Pete, but I can tie it right in here to 10-cent Music. Um, a lot of you folks know that Tencent um is a huge uh music and entertainment group out of China.
And when you look at that stock just falling apart, Pete, I mean, it's down 21%. It's trading under 12 bucks a share. It was 17 bucks just a little over two months ago, I think, Pete. So, it's just been going like this, diving.
Well, the uh prediction market is out there basically saying that uh uh the likelihood that China's going to invade Taiwan falling like a stone. I mean back in August of last year it was up to about 50 cent uh 50% rather 50 cent 10
cent [laughter] but it was up to about 50% and now it is hovering around 11% chance and it has just it fell fast and now it's just bleeding out and I think that's because a lot of what's going on in the last uh two three weeks now really hurts China.
Obviously, this report um is looking back, not looking forward. But I think when people do look forward, what are the guidance numbers can't be good for 10 cent?
>> Yeah, it's it's amazing, John. It's pushing right there against the 52- week lows. It's down about 21% last I looked today. The problem really wasn't the revenue. They came through pretty nicely with the revenue, but when you look at the the mix and all of a sudden you go over and you see where the earnings themselves were, John, that was a pretty
huge miss. I mean, a buck 41 versus a buck 54, that's uh that's a lot more than I think anybody would have probably expected at all. And, you know, user growth, they're expanding. Sure, that part's good, but their retention right now is not very good. So, there's some positives there, but more negatives. And
that's why it's pushing itself back close to those. if not establishing new 52- week lows. This is one of those where it there's some positives that do exist, but there's enough negatives that I would just walk away. I don't I don't think this is like on a 21% move to the downside. Some people would say, "Well, that looks like an opportunity to buy."
I don't think so. I think these guys have a lot further to fall and I unless something changes, um I have no interest in trying to be a bottom picker because as we know that, uh that doesn't end well.
Well, something it's it's not ending. Of course, it's ongoing, but airlines and Pete and I I think have done a pretty good job letting you guys know that this is 25 to 30% of the cost of running an airline is fuel. So obviously just like Americans hurt when the price of fuel
goes up um everything gets delivered these days by trucks. Um 90 some odd percent of those probably like 96% of those trucks are running on diesel. Um and I think the opportunity here is when you get a chance to buy it by it meaning
the airlines whether it's Delta or United. and they're down hard because of that big jump in fuel prices. Last week, Pete, uh it was 57 bucks a share. Delta was today. They gave Q1 revenue guidance and yeah, they did talk about how much
fuel has gone up, but they say they can overcome it with the uh demand for travel still being strong, especially their premium seats. And that's why the stock is up, you know, in the neighborhood of 10% in a week. It's trading 63. Like I said, it was 57 last week.
>> Yeah. And and it's up four or five% just today alone when you're talking about Delta, John. Yeah, you're exactly right.
And that guidance, the Q1 guidance, well above what they were expecting and and people were, I think, were really caught off guard by that whole thing. We didn't have that much off guard because of two reasons. one, we've seen a heck of a lot of unusual option activity, John, in United, in Delta, in Southwest, in a lot
of the various names that are out there.
So, um, very, very interesting to see how things are going. They've got some strong margins as well. But I think what where you really hit it on the head, people just don't understand the demand.
And you and I do, you especially, you travel like crazy. I've been traveling a lot in the last month, month, month and a half or so. And I can tell you this, not one single flight had a seat available that I flew on. Not one. I mean, I I literally am looking around going, I know how much this thing cost.
And some of these people were doing spring break type things and whatever, John. They are willing to still pay that price. And so interesting to see how that's going. And they had some record numbers actually that were put out there as well. So interesting to see how this whole thing is playing out right now.
But that demand, and you've talked about it, I've talked about it. you you know what? There are times where you can't even get close to the seat you want.
Even if you were willing to pay a little bit more to get that seat, it ain't a available. So, you've got to settle with back there with the dogs and the chickens. So, that's one of those things where uh I'm not a big fan of that, although I've had to do that recently on on some of these commercial flights. So, it is what it is. But I'll tell you
what, I think the demand factor is the real that's where it trumps everything right now because people are willing to pay that much more to be able to go where they want to go, John. And like I say, I'm I've literally heard them say thousand bucks for anybody who wants to take the next flight out. Anybody want the next flight out? And you know what?
Eventually they find somebody, but usually that comes at a little bit higher cost, which I think the airline is willing to do when they've got that many people.
>> Yep. It's uh it's a very interesting biz and it it also extends folks to trust trucking logistics um as well as uh the cruise lines uh all highly dependent on the price of fuel just like all of us are.
>> All right, let's hit one more Pete and then we'll move on to your sports.
Micron. So, Micron is out there um initiated high volume production and shipments of one of their big memory chips. And um this is a big deal because obviously Nvidia, we understand GTC kind of sucked a lot, not all, but a lot of
the air out of the room. But Nvidia's GTC event could also point people towards advancements in Micron's tech.
And that's exactly what has happened so far. And that's why we've seen Micron getting a pretty good bid.
>> Yeah, when you've got something that's tailored to Nvidia itself, John, like they do with that Vera Robin system, um I would say that they are in the right place because you know what Nvidia and we're hearing more and more about it as this conference goes on. But um they really are an amazing company and we've seen some uh UOA in there, hint hint, u
as well lately, which I think has been pretty interesting as well. optimism, John, when it comes to NAND to dedram and all the rest of that. I mean, that is something Micron is one of those that you and I were specialists in that name for a pretty long time and did pretty well in there. But I'll tell you what, that son of a gun just hit 52- week
highs today, too, at 458. So, um it's people probably thought it was over because, well, memories made this huge move with SanDisk and all these various companies out there. Well, I'll tell you what. Uh, Micron still is, in my opinion, one of the kings that's out there and certainly this deal that
they've gotten with Vidia, with Nvidia is absolutely crushing it for them right now.
>> Yeah, Micron is uh it's always been an interesting stock and today it's up what almost 13 bucks, Pete, just a little bit ago when I looked at it. And yeah, Pete's right, folks. We did have unusual activity. I'll post that later, but uh they they were definitely coming for
calls in there. And with the stock just yesterday at 446, they were buying this week expiring March 475s.
Um they've been buying buying buying.
They're buying all the way out to 620 if you look out in January. So, >> I saw that one.
>> Could be a pretty interesting ride for Micron shareholders. All right. What do you got as far as sports, Pete? Well, I thought we could have a little bit of fun with this, John, because you and I both like Mel Kyper. He's been around forever. He's the guy who what you go he's the go-to guy for NFL in a lot of different ways. And you know what? A lot
of it is kind of fun to listen to and some of it you might disagree, but that's fine. I mean, I think that that should happen a lot actually is the all it takes is one free agent signing or one whatever and all of a sudden the the draft looks a whole lot different. But here's the mock mock draft that he put up just today, John. And I think it's pretty interesting. So, of course,
Fernando is going to go to the Raiders.
We all know that. I mean, that's that's just a given, right? And that's Tom Brady is building that that company of the Raiders to be able to make sure that this guy is going to get covered back there hopefully compared to some of the quarterbacks in the past where it was just a free reign to smack them and get 64 sacks, which is what they gave up
last year. Um, what I find interesting about this though, John, is he's got two linebackers going, number two and number three. David Bailey going to the Jets.
He's the kid out of Texas Tech. Hell of a linebacker. And then Arville Reese from Ohio State. The other thing that stands out is you've got Reese from Ohio State who's an outside linebacker.
You've got Caleb DS who's a safety going to the Giants. Um, you've al also got Sunny Styles, a linebacker from Ohio State. How on God's green earth, John, did Ohio State not win the national title when you've got this many guys that are already in the top 10 in the
draft and a whole bunch more after that as well. Uh the talent level was absolutely ridiculous at Ohio State. It got even more ridiculous. We were talking about this uh just the other day with one of these kids who can run like a 10200 meter John when he was 15 years old. and now he's decided, hey, I'm
going for what? He he gave up going to Tennessee to go to Ohio State, I think, something like that. I mean, it's it's amazing what's out there. But it's also amazing to see how many defensive players are out there, too, John.
Another linebacker. Well, you got Sunny Styles at linebacker. You've got Ruben Bane who's sort of a slash defensive end edge rusher. Maybe sometimes they even call it a linebacker, but he's another one pretty interesting going to the Chiefs. When I look at this list, I just look at just an amazing group of guys in
the top 10. And in let's be honest, the whole, you know, first round is going to be wild. But is there anybody that that when you're looking at this where you say, you know what, uh, I don't think that guy belongs there because it seems to me Jeremiah love going that high, I think it's worthwhile. I think running backs have always been worth it in the
idiot squad in the NFL for a long time just went for receivers. It's like, okay, they're a dime a dozen. Running backs like Jeremiah Love, that guy, John, is one of the meanest, toughest guys who's a running back that you will ever see, and he wants to be the greatest of all time. He's said that.
So, uh, I think the Tennessee Titans, if they were able to get him at number four, and a lot of people will say that's too high. I'm going to say it's not high enough. That's how good that son of a gun is. But what do you think about the, uh, the first, you know, five, 10 guys in the draft? What do you think of this whole thing?
>> I think it's odd, Pete, that the linebacker who is fifth in the Heisman voting, Rodriguez, from also from Texas Tech. Um, I mean, that kid's a hell of a player. And so, as Pete said, folks, when you look at uh uh the Jets perhaps taking his teammate, [laughter]
>> um, very interesting. I don't know how those two team and of course they were both in uh uh and very highly thought of, not just those players, but those teams. Ohio State um with Styles, the defensive back and the linebacker and then uh Texas Tech. But I was working out this morning, Pete, with uh Mike
Tannenbomb >> from ESPN. Yeah.
>> And we were talking about you and you know, general managers and things like that because he spends a lot of time up there with the Vikings and so forth.
[laughter] So, you know, things could happen.
Um anyway, uh he he wishes you well by the way, Pete. And that's a guy, folks, that was um both the general manager and um has has worked inside with the NFL and a hell of a nice man, too. Really knows the game. And I remember Pete, when you and I were first getting that
book from Mel Kyper. It's like a book.
It's this thing.
>> He publishes every player that he thinks could be drafted or even free agents. I have them all.
>> I still have him. I still got him downstairs. I got the whole thing. I got I got like 20 years of Mel Kyper in the draft.
>> It's one of the most interesting things you can read because Mel Yeah, he publishes what did they run the 40 and the 20 and you know the the cone drill and all that, but he puts a lot more priority where it should be, which is how did the guy do on the field. um which is how it should be again because
you can impress people and god bless them. Uh you know these guys are doing a lot of speed work so the the numbers they're putting up are crazy but do you get into a good hitting position if you're a defensive player? If you're an offensive player, can you make the defensive guys step the wrong way just to create enough room to be able to
catch the ball and all the rest? It's it's those things that are the most important, not the 43640, but it's fun to see. So, I understand why it draws the eyeballs. What else you got, Pete? I got one more, and this is a relative quickie, but it's it's something that I think is worth talking about, especially for you, John. You're a Chicago guy. Uh I know you're not
living there anymore, but that you're a Chicago guy. Um the Kansas City Chiefs did something really, really interesting. They got Patrick Mahomes.
We all know that. Patrick's actually getting a little bit older. We also know that. But he's he's going to be around for a little while longer. Not he ain't it's not like he's on a on a tour right just yet. Kelsey, yes, but not uh I don't think anyway. Do do we see Mahomes doing that? That being said, John, how
about the New York Jets? They made a trade. They got rid of Justin Fields who was what was he a top 10? Was he a top two? Was he number one? Number one.
>> Number one overall, but he was our number one pick in Chicago.
>> Right. I was going to say I don't remember him being that quite that high.
But yeah, so he's a first round pick.
Chicago Bears had him. I think the kid is really great. I don't think he's been with the right team and and you know what the Bears when he was there stunk.
They fixed that offensive line and all of a sudden Caleb looks pretty damn good.
>> And he goes to the Jets which is where everybody goes to die, right? I mean there's the the Jets are got to be one of the worst teams for crushing somebody's soul out there, right? I mean, and Justin Fields is is that guy.
So, they just traded him to Kansas City.
They only got a sixth round pick in 2027 for him, John. So, the Jets are going to pay $7 million. They only have to pay three million of that 10 million that left from for Kansas City. So, for $3 million now, they've got Justin Fields, who was a very high draft pick and a
heck of an athletic player and I think a much better quarterback than people even understand, but he hasn't been with the right team. And it is amazing. I mean, I'll give you a great example. Let's see. Sam Darnold comes to mind, maybe just a little bit, right? He was with what team?
>> The Jets. He was with Sam Darnold was with the Jets. They drafted him. How'd that go? not too good. But boy, I I tell you what, he's feeling pretty good with that Super Bowl ring on his finger right now.
>> Those New York teams, Pete, are the worst.
>> They are.
>> I mean, you know, you got Indiana Jones. Um, you got Darnold. Um, Justin Fields is a hell of a nice guy, too, on top of everything else. Got to meet him a couple times in Chicago. um when he came in he said all the right things as a player coming to play for a team that you know was as you say they saw
it. Yeah.
>> But he didn't have a quarterback coach.
I think they went through two or three coaches while during his brief stint there and then he went to Pittsburgh and then to the Jets. It was just a >> downhill slide.
>> Not because of his play, but because like you say, >> they got to put a team around him. They can't just throw the quarterback out there and let him get slaughtered.
>> Yep. And that's where when we were talking at the beginning and then I'm done with it, but I'll I'll say, you know what, when you look at the Raiders and and the fact that they went out and found themselves a center, that was something they had to do and they did it. And that gives that quarterback that much more confidence to have that one guy. And it's not like the entire five
on the offensive line are terrible, but they do have a few holes still that they're going to probably fill with the with the draft. And that's going to be great because Fernando is going to be able to be out back there. And like you said, John, he's one hell of a smart kid. He's going to figure things out pretty quickly if they give him the the
right opportunity with players that are going to keep instead of 64 sacks, I'd say, let's get 40. If you end up with only 40, now it's on on Fernando to get rid of that football. So, I I like what they're doing. I think Tom Brady's the right guy to be able to do this. And that's going to be pretty cool, too. But
I'm excited for Justin Fields because if the opportunity is there, I'd love to see what he does with that coaching staff and how that offense has run year after year after year. That should be pretty cool.
>> That will be for sure. and they've got some draft picks that they're going to be bringing in that might be pretty good as well. Well, thanks for joining us, folks. Um, we will be back tomorrow at 100 p.m. Eastern time. We hope all of you have a great day and uh we'll see you tomorrow.
Yeah. Heat.
