Build the desk you actually trade.
Trade Desk Pro is a fully customizable workspace built for active traders. This guide covers everything from rearranging widgets to driving the entire UI with an AI agent.
Layout basics
The desk is organized into six modes — Monitor, Trade, Analyze, Scan, MarketWatch, and Tools. Each mode has its own saved layout of widgets.
- Click + Add Widget in the command bar to drop new panels onto a mode.
- Drag any card by its header to rearrange. Drag a corner to resize.
- Toggle the lock icon to freeze the layout once it's perfect.
- Layouts auto-save to your account — they follow you across browsers.
Multi-monitor
Trade Desk Pro is designed for multi-screen setups. You can pop out a single widget or an entire mode tab into a real browser window, then drag it to any other monitor.
- Single widget: hover any card and click the pop-out icon in the header.
- Whole tab: hover a mode tab (Monitor, Trade, …) and click the ↗ icon that appears.
- Popped widgets persist across refreshes until you dock them back.

AI Trade Desk Agent
Hit ⌘J or click AI Agent in the top bar. It can drive the desk for you — switching symbols, accounts, adding widgets, and pre-filling order tickets.

Under the hood the agent dispatches structured actions (set_symbol, set_account, add_widget, prefill_order) so it never executes a live order without your confirmation.
Order ticket
- Paper and Live ride on the same ticket — the account toggle is in the command bar.
- Short positions show a Buy to Cover button instead of Buy when you have an open short.
- Every live order runs through the Pre-Trade AI Review with an educational disclaimer before it can be sent.
Ticker search
Press ⌘K or / anywhere to focus the smart search. Results show real company logos, live price, and % change.
- Your most recent 6 symbols are pinned to the top.
- Crypto symbols (BTC, ETH, …) and index ETFs (SPY, QQQ, …) get their own branded icons.
- ↑ ↓ to navigate, Enter to select, Esc to dismiss.
Tips & gotchas
- Live trading gate: placing real orders requires the compliance checks to be green. Stay in Paper if your account isn't fully cleared.
- Reset layout: the command bar's reset button restores the default layout for the active mode — it doesn't touch your other modes.
- Stuck panel? Toggle the lock off, then drag any card to free it.
